From research and public affairs to the construction of a Bahraini fictional universe.
01 · PROFILE
Alaa Jasim is a Bahraini novelist and researcher with a writing career extending back to the early 2000s. His professional background includes news editing and political research, with particular specialization in Iranian affairs and regional questions.
Alongside that research career, his literary work developed into a broader creative project centered on Bahrain: its history, landscapes, archaeological memory, and its potential as a setting for horror, mystery and cinematic storytelling.
His fiction is conceived not only as a sequence of books, but as a connected intellectual property that can expand into visual storytelling, trailers, digital reading experiences, magazines, screen adaptations and collectible character design.
A Bahrain-rooted horror universe built around Barbar, Dilmun, the Last Heartbeat, ancient presences and recurring real locations.
A historical Bahraini narrative inspired by the 1925 pearl-diving disaster and the maritime world surrounding it.
Research writing examining the historical roots and transformations of Arab–Persian rivalry from history into the present.
02 · VISION
The creative principle is simple: real Bahraini places retain their geography and identity. Fiction changes what happens there — not where the places are, or what they are.
